LAUREN ZANDERS, M.Ed.
She/Her/Hers
Therapist
I am a mental health counselor based in the Milton office, offering both in-person and telehealth sessions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and my master’s degree in Counseling from Boston University. I have experience working in both private outpatient and community mental health settings, ranging from collaborating with parents during IEP meetings to providing group therapy on an inpatient psychiatric unit, and many roles in between.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and flexible, drawing from CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, humanistic therapy, and play therapy. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents in various settings. I am trained in the DIR®/Floortime™ model of play therapy, a client-centered approach that honors each person’s unique strengths, developmental differences, and interests. I work to meet people where they are, using creativity, and conversation to support emotional growth and build skills in a way that feels engaging and meaningful.
At the core of my work is a strengths-based approach aimed at helping you meet your goals while honoring your life story and what makes you who you are. I view therapy as a collaborative process and strive to foster a supportive space grounded in empathy, curiosity, and humility. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, trying new recipes, practicing yoga, going to the beach, and spending time with loved ones.
