Shelby Stavis, M.A Clinician
She/Her/Hers
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Merrimack College. My clinical foundation is rooted in extensive experience working with children and adolescents across early childhood development centers, elementary school-based settings, and community environments. These experiences informed my understanding of developmental milestones, behavioral presentation, and the importance of early intervention.
I have provided outpatient and in-home therapy services supporting children, adolescents, and families across varying levels of care. My work has included collaborating with caregivers, schools, and multidisciplinary providers to ensure comprehensive, systems-based support. During my undergraduate education at the University of Rhode Island, I also worked closely with underserved student populations, further strengthening my commitment to accessible and equitable care.
I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and families experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, including difficulties with emotional regulation, peer relationships, self-esteem, and adjustment-related concerns. My therapeutic approach is developmentally informed, relationship-centered, and collaborative. I integrate evidence-based strategies while tailoring interventions to each client’s developmental stage and individual needs.
I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance and creating a safe, empowering space where young clients feel supported in exploring their experiences, strengthening coping skills, and fostering resilience. My goal is to provide clinically sound, individualized care in an environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and respected.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, exploring new workout classes, and re-watching favorite TV shows.
